As a Principal Electrical Design Engineer (Team Lead), you will be responsible for leading a small team to successfully and competently deliver complex engineering solutions for projects within requirements, schedule and budget. This is a role where leadership, stakeholder management and delivery excellence intersect.

In this role, you will:

• Foster a culture of technical excellence, quality assurance, collaboration, client satisfaction, delivery focus among the engineering team.

• Be accountable for the development and implementation of design and drafting processes, standards and templates

• Provide mentoring and leadership to your team, which may also include leading extended teams to achieve non-technical project outcomes, such as accountability for the team’s performance in achieving schedule, quality and budget targets.

• Work closely with the Manufacturing team to ensure effectiveness of designs and constructability

• Be confident in liaising directly with clients and key stakeholders in developing and refining scopes of work as needed.

• Be accountable to the Regional Engineering Manager for the preparation and production of electrical designs to meet project requirements, specifications, budgets, and timeframes.

About you:

• Australian Citizenship is essential for this role.

• Proven experience managing and leading a small to medium size electrical design team.

• Electrical Engineering degree with proven experience at Principal level, ideally within automation.

• Eligible for state-based engineering registration in Electrical Engineering.

• Verifiable knowledge of design engineering principles and practices.

• Verifiable design management and leadership experience.

• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to engage with key stakeholders at all levels.
