Senior Systems Engineer

Join our Sydney team and showcase your advanced control system engineering and automation skills, ideally within the water infrastructure/utilities sector.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will have proven advanced design and delivery expertise in electrical engineering and/or control systems engineering. You will be accountable for successfully and competently delivering complex engineering solutions for projects within requirements, schedule and budget in their area(s) of expertise. You will provide mentoring and leadership and have the ability to lead a technical team.
In this role you will:
- Lead a technical team through ongoing mentoring and development.
• Be accountable for the team’s performance in achieving schedule, quality and budget targets.
• Design and deliver technical solutions that meet the requirements and scope of the project.
• Identify and mitigate technical risk, escalating high risk items to management.
• Manage and promptly resolve project issues.
• Manage changes to the technical outcomes of the project.
Skills & Experience:
- You will have an appropriate Electrical Engineering qualification combined with verifiable industry experience working within the automation industry.
• You will have demonstrable knowledge of good engineering practices and principles.
• Candidates with excellent communications skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders to elicit and understand their requirements to deliver a high-quality service, will be highly regarded.
• You will have previous experience leading and mentoring staff within an engineering environment.
• Candidates experienced with Prodef, CCM, Siemens TIA and/or Schneider PLC and GeoSCADA will be highly regarded.
